Yvonne Nelson has been the subject matter on Twitter since today and here is why.
Yvonne Nelson was one of the hottest Ghollywood actors who graced the screens of movie lovers years back; in fact, she was one of the most sought-after actresses in Ghana who crossed over and took Nollywood by storm. She along with, Lydia Fortson, Nadia Buari, and others got their biggest movie breaks acting in Nigerian movies back in the day.

The actress who has been on sabbatical surfaced earlier in the day, making some shocking revelations about her controversial romance with music stars, Sarkodie and Iyanya Mbuk.
Yvonne Nelson and Sakordie Romance Trajectory
Yvonne Nelson who launched her new book titled, “I am not Yvonne Nelson” is currently trending alongside the rapper Sarkodie after excerpt of her book was shared online.
In her book ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’, the Ghanaian actress said the famous rapper based in Tema got her pregnant but made her abort the pregnancy.
In her narrative, Yvonne Nelson categorically mentioned that the said rapper was Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie, the Ghanaian musician. According to her, Sarkodie told her he was not ready to be a father in 2010.
“I had gone for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the most obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who misses her monthly flow. I was in the company of Karen. And when the test result was ready, I wasn’t strong enough to open it. She did and declared the verdict.
“Charlie, it dey there!” she exclaimed.
“On an ordinary day, I would have laughed out loud and that would trigger a string of jolly conversations and jokes. But this was no laughing matter. It was a grim piece of information that was capable of turning my world upside down. I wasn’t the only one responsible for the situation, so I called the man whose potent seed had germinated in me. His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian musician who is better known as Sarkodie.
“Sarkodie was a budding musician with the potential to become one of the biggest artists in Ghana and beyond. At the time, however, the future looked uncertain, and his way through the maze of life still appeared too foggy to predict. Success was not guaranteed. He was still living with his mother and was not ready to carry a burden while he was being carried by his mother.
“I wouldn’t call what had developed between us a serious relationship. I gravitated toward people in the music industry. For the longest time in my life, music was my getaway from all the unpleasant things life threw at me. So, I liked his talent. We started talking and got close. Closer,” parts of the book read.
“The first thing that hit me when he said no to keeping the pregnancy was my own life. I had grown up without a father in my life. I had often been reminded of how I had been borne by mistake.
Yvonne Nelson and Iyanya Romance Gone Sour
She said that Iyanya assured her of his love to the point of tattooing her initials on his wrist and including her name in one of his hit songs, ‘Ur Waist.’
The actress went on to add that the separation happened after someone called her to inform her of Tonto Dikeh’s constant sleeping over at the singer’s house in her absence.
The excerpt from the book read, “We had a decent relationship breakfast in bed and all niceties, dream relationship one could chink of had the assurance that hero someone I could be with forever. He tattooed my initial, YN, on his wrist, and I thought that was a big deal. If he wasn’t serious about me, he wouldn’t do that. In his hit song, ‘Ur Waist’, he mentioned how he lusted over me. One can therefore imagine my shock when I returned to Ghana after one of my visits to Nigeria and someone called me from his house.
“The caller said anytime I left Iyanya’s place, another actress came over to him and sometimes slept over. The person felt strongly that there was something going on between them and thought I should know. That actress turned out to be Tonto Dikeh of Nigeria, one of the female celebrities Iyanya named in his “Ur Waist” song.
“When I was convinced about the authenticity of the information I received, I was heartbroken. I took to Twitter to rant and vent. Tonto Dikeh responded on Twitter, saying people changed and so did feelings, so I should move on.
“I later heard more stories about what Iyanya did with some of his male crew members. It convinced me that what happened between him and Tonto Dike wasn’t an isolated incident. It was a pattern, his way of life. I knew I eventually would have left even if Tonto Dikeh didn’t come into the picture. I did not see the need to keep fighting her for a man I had lost, especially when I knew her fate was not going to be different from mine.”
