Tunde Thomas: There are indications that First City Monument Bank – FCMB may not punish MD, Adam Nuru who is caught in the web of an adultery scandal with his former subordinate, Moyo Thomas, E-nigeria! reports. READ FULL STORY HERE
FCMB in a statement released by its Group Head, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Diran Olojo, said the bank was aware of the allegations making the rounds against its MD and that the bank’s board of directors had already commenced a review into the matter, adding that its findings would be disclosed in due course.
“We are aware of several stories circulating across several media platforms about our bank’s Managing Director, Adam Nuru, a former employee Ms. Moyo Thomas and her deceased ex-husband, Mr. Tunde Thomas.
“While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Mr. Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct, require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired, to ascertain if there were violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of these code of conduct ethics.
This will be done immediately. We enjoin all our stakeholders to bear with us as we conduct this review and to please respect the various families involved. Our Board of Directors is reviewing all aspects of this report and once they are done with their review, we will revert to you”, Diran Olojo told Sahara Reporters.
But E-nigeria gathered that the board of First City Monument Bank may not sack Adam Nuru as against public expectations. According to an inside source, “FCMB may not sack Adam Nuru for allowing the couple to work together in the same organisation if the bank was not officially informed that they are a legal couple.
“More so, unethical conducts occur in most organisations, but the code of conduct is violated when such unethical sexual conduct is forced or occurred under durex, i.e., you will lose your job if you failed to give in. If the case of Adam Nuru and Mrs. Thomas is consensual, then in no way might it be a violation of the code of conduct of the bank, although it does not make it right as it is purely adultery”, the source concluded.
While as investigations into the matter continue like the bank said in its statement, many are already opined that the whole exercise may be one in futility.
