Okorocha to be arraigned in court tomorrow



It is no longer news that immediate past Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has been arrested alongside his wife.
Also arrested according to E-nigeria! findings were, Ijeoma Igboanusi who was was the deputy chief of staff (Domestics) and Lasbrey Okafor-Anyanwu – Commissioner for Transportation in Okorocha’s government.
This newspaper had earlier reported that there was a clash between Senator Rochas Okorocha and aides of governor Hope Uzodinma on Sunday afternoon after the former in the company of his wife, son in-law Ugumba Uche-Nwosu and several of his supporters to unsealed Royal Spring Palm Hotel.
Days back, the Imo State government had sealed up Royal Spring Palm Hotel in its bid to revoke all lands illegally acquired by individuals or organisations in the state.
Okorochas who now represents Imo West at the Senate had gone to the estate with his supporters, policemen, soldiers and personnel of National Security and Civil Defense Corps and ordered the unsealing of the estate, claiming that the state government had no right to seal his property without a court order.
Government officials mobilised to the estate, leading to a free-for-all as many were reportedly injured while some cars were damaged.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba confirmed Okorocha’s arrest and said he will be arraigned tomorrow (Monday).
Meanwhile E-nigeria! obtained several videos showing how the former governor who looked battered, humbled and humiliated was dragged like a common criminal to the state Police Command for interrogation.
