AMAA Founder, Peace Anyiam Osigwe for burial in Lagos
Late AMAA founder Peace Anyiam-Osigwe laid to rest today, Wednesday, February 15th.
E-Nigeria Newspaper reports that the funeral service is currently ongoing at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Yaba, where friends and family are gathered to say their final goodbyes.
It would be recalled that Peace passed away at the St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, on the 9th of January, after a brief illness.
The notable founder of AMAA Awards and pioneer Nollywood practitioner reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and was immediately rushed to St. Nicholas in Lagos Island, but couldn’t make it.
According to insider reports, she allegedly remained in coma for three days before eventually passing on at about 11:18 pm on Saturday, January 9, 2023.
ENigeria Newspaper understands that prior to her death, efforts were made fly her abroad for treatment.
Osiwge was said to have lined up series of event that would preceed this year’s AMAA Awards celebration before the unexpected happened.
