PDP Candidate, Umo Eno wins Akwa Ibom Governorship Election 2023

Umo Eno won in 30 out of the 31 local government areas in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission is expected to announce Umo Eno, the PDP’s nominee for governor in Akwa Ibom, as the election’s victor on March 18.

According to a count of the official results, Mr. Eno prevailed in 29 of the state’s 31 local government areas with a total of 350,348 votes. Bassey Albert of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), his main rival, received 136,262 votes.

Mr. Albert triumphed in the Ikono and Ibiono Ibom local governments.

With 127,602 votes, Akanimo Udofia of the All Progressives Congress (APC) finished third.

Mr. Udofia came in last place in every local government district in the state, including his home district of Nsit Ibom.

The results from all the local government areas were announced at the INEC collation centre in Uyo, the state capital.
