Moments ago, Senator Rochas Okorocha clashed with Police officers and armed thugs believed to be loyalists of governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State at Royal Springs Palm Hotel in Owerri.
Recall that days back, heavily armed Police officers accompanied Ennyinnaya Onuegbu, Imo State Commissioner of Lands sealed Royal Spring Palm Hotel believed to be owned by Rochas Okorocha. In the process, there were sporadic gunshots and alleged vandalization of the facility, leading to injury and reported death of two persons.
Onuegbu hinted that he was acting on the authority of Governor Hope Uzodinma who is on a mission to revoke all lands illegally acquired by individuals or organisations in the state.
In a video obtained by E-nigeria! this afternoon, Senator Rochas Okorocha was seen unsealing the hotel earlier sealed on the governor’s authority. In the video, Okorocha who argued that the governor has no right to seal his property without a court order went ahead to broke the keys alongside some of his aides.
Moments after, just like in an action movie scene the entire scene at began to swarm with thugs who forced their way into the premises shooting sporadically and destroying properties all in the presence of men of the Nigeria Police Force who stood and watched.
According to an eye witness account, the thugs were shipped in by one Obinna Onuegbu who is Special Adviser on Special Duties to Governor Hope Uzodinma. As at the time of filing this report, several vehicles belonging to Senator Okorocha were destroyed by the thugs who seem to be hell-bent making life unbearable for the former governor.
