Fuad Laguda poised to take over Gbajabiamila’s seat as APC Surulere Rep
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed that Fuad Laguda is its candidate for the coming bye-election for Surulere Federal Constituency I.
After Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila resigned from his position as Chief of Staff to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the position became vacant.
Between 2019 until 2023, Gbajabiamila presided over the Green Chamber’s 9th Legislative Session.

He was elected to serve the Federal Constituency for a sixth term, but after being appointed by the President, he was forced to quit.
Three aspirants: Laguda, former member of the state House of Assembly, Kabir Lawal; and Agboola Dabiri jostled for the APC ticket in Surulere but Gbajabiamila pitched his tent with Laguda, who until then was the APC Chairman in Surulere Local Government.
On Monday, 17 July, 2023, leaders and stakeholders of the party met and all agreed to back Laguda for the ticket.
The meeting was witnessed by the state Chairman of the party, Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi.
