Facts have emerged how Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa in connivance with leaders of the House allegedly connived to embezzle public funds in the tune of millions of naira, e-nigeria! reports

Series of media reports backed by documented evidence as well as BVN number: 2296663231 revealed how the Lagos Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa not only operated multiple accounts with several banks using different names, but how he allegedly also diverted public funds running into several millions into those accounts.

Among the banks where Obasa’s accounts were domiciled include Wema Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Eco Bank and 61 other Nigerian banks.

To conceal his identity, the Speaker was said to have altered his name and date of birth in some of the accounts.

Aside from using Ajayi Mudashiru Obasa, he also used Obasa Abdulrahman Gbadunola and Gabriel Adedoyin Savage to register some of the bank accounts.

e-nigeria! also gathered that Obasa awarded contracts to himself using different companies he owned and also got the House of Assembly to approve N258m for printing of invitation cards for the inauguration of lawmakers two months after the event held.

Other reports also revealed how he allegedly approved N17m monthly to maintain his personal residence and guest house, and N53m from the state coffers to travel with his mistress to the United States of America.

It was also revealed that 19 lawmakers led by Obasa went for a women leadership programme and received N80m as estacode after returning from the programme.

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos and at the national level is believed to have given an express order to Obasa to clear his name or risk losing his position in the Assembly and party in general.

Desperate to meet that target, the Lagos Speaker is doing everything within his powers to ensure that he doesn’t go down with stream of scandals hanging around his neck.

Recall that at the beginning of the 9th Assembly, Obasa championed a move to probe the activities of former governor, Akinwunmi Ambde’s activities while in office.

Obasa’s action was backed up by other aggrieved members of the Lagos State Assembly who were not in good terms with the former governor with due to the dramatic manner in which he fell out with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu a leader of the All progressives Congress.

As at the time of filing this report, e-nigeria! can report that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC has launched an investigation in to the activities of the speaker and the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the account of series of multi-million naira fraud leveled against it.

e-nigeria! had earlier reported that there is serious panic in the camp of Speaker Obasa and members members of the house after EFCC invited and question some of them few days back, READ REPORT HERE

This is coming after a panel of investigation set up to investigate Obasa and member of the Lagos State House of Assembly exonerated the Speaker and passed of confidence in him.
