When the president presided over the final meeting of the Federal Executive Council today in Abuja, many had anticipated that he would disband his cabinet.

The president, on the other hand, told his ministry to go back to their desks and carry on with their duties.

Following the FEC Valedictory session, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said this at a briefing.

The Information Minister refuted rumours that the Cabinet has been dissolved, despite the President having official photos taken with the cabinet.

Alhaji Mohammed claimed that the dissolution was untrue and that the ministers will continue to serve through May 29.

“Speculation about dissolution of the Federal Executive Council is not true.

“As a matter of fact, the President has directed us to go back to our offices and work.

“I have to clearly give this explanation because of the false story that broke while today’s meeting was going on,” the Minister said.
