The All Progressives Congress, APC has debunked news of suspending Abia North senatorial senate chief whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, ENigeria Newspaper reports.
In the rebuttal, the APC spokesperson, Okey Ezeala said the reports were the handiwork of the Peoples Democratic Party.
APC in a statement denying the story described the originator of the report, Vanguard Reporter, Steve Oko as a paid agent of the PDP.
The party further revealed that Orji Uzor Kalu was its valid candidate contesting the Abia North senatorial district.
APC further described the anti-party activity levelled against Orji Uzor as false as he has always remained a committed member of the party and its progress.
The ruling party’s spokesperson added that Orji Kalu does not have any record of campaigning against any of the party’s candidates.
APC further urged the public to discredit the news and cast their vote with confidence.
A report that originated from Vanguard News declares that APC had suspended Orji Kalu, a contestant in the senatorial poll slated to hold on Saturday.
The report highlighted anti-party activities as the bases for the suspension of the APC senate chief whip.
Orji won a court case to retain his APC ticket for the Abia North constituency after losing the party’s presidential ticket to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The senate chief whip battled the electorate which forbids a candidate to compete in two positions in an election and won after the court identified him as a presidential aspirant and not a candidate.
