Almajiri is the new talk of the town movie produced by seasoned comedian and movie producer Ayo Makun, even though he gave production credit to his delectable wife, Mabel Makun.
Based on a true-life experience, Almajiri storyline borders child trafficking and other forms of child slavery and affects the average child in Nigeria and other parts of Africa as can be seen in the story of Nafisat and Salihu, two young children who were separated from their parents from childhood by the cruel business of Alhaji Makarfi.

The gullible villagers believe Alhaji Makarfi, love him, and even revere him higher than the chiefs in the North. He is showered with gifts and praises sang to high heavens; some villagers even go the extra mile to sell their valuables to offer him bribes just to get their wards enlisted for his scholarship scheme, unknown to them that none of their children ever gets to see the wall of a school let alone have the liberty of pursuing a trade. They are beaten, brainwashed, and forced to become prostitutes, suicide bombers, and ALMAJIRIS.

The film delves into the lives of Almajiri children, who are often subjected to extreme poverty, leading them to roam the streets in search of basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter. Makun aims to highlight the plight of these children and draw attention to the issues they face, such as chronic illness, physical and sexual abuse, human trafficking, slavery, and drug addiction.
