For weeks since the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, anxiety begun to mount over his running mate.

There were multiple speculations and several other names on the list, but ENigeria Newspaper understands that earlier today, a PDP panel nominated Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, as the running mate to Atiku Abubakar.

This is coming after ENigeria Newspaper learnt that the PDP panel comprising of both past and present governors alongside the members of the national working committee of the party insisted that Atiku’s running mate must be a present governor from the Southern part of the country.
