As the search for APC Presidential Candidate thickens, the option of a consensus candidate is still on the table, ENigeria Newspaper reports.

Even as anxiety lingers as the All Progressives Congress – APC prepares for Presidential primary today, ENigeria Newspaper understands that President Buhari may still be holding the ace as APC governors have reportedly submitted names of five aspirants from which the choice of a consensus candidate can be made.

Daily Trust reports that after an all-night meeting with President Buhari at Aso Rock, APC governors submitted the names of five presidential aspirants to President Muhammadu Buhari to select a consensus candidate from.

ENigeria newspaper understands that the the names, submitted are, that of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State), Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation, and Governor Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State).

“Going by the above development, it means the plan to install Senate president Ahmad Lawal as APC consensus candidate by APC chairman, Adamu has failed”.

“The president is yet to make up his mind and if he did not make up his mind on time, the delegates will then decide who becomes APC 2023 presidential candidate”, a source revealed.
