Breaking: Prison Officials raid Abba Kyari’s cell – cash, sophisticated gadgets recovered.

Abba Kyari and case mate, Sunny Ubua’s cells were busted by prison officials who were alarmed at what were recovered, ENigeria Newspaper reports.

Earlier, a report published by ENigeria Newspaper revealed how inmates of the correctional facility in Kuje nearly lynched disgraced police officer, Abba Kyari and his casemate, Sunny Ubuah. READ MORE HERE

The enraged inmates accused him of insincerity in bribe-for-release transactions while in active service, prison officials are considering shifting the suspended police officer to the custody of the State Security Service (SSS).
In a recent development, ENigeria Newspaper learned that officials from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), as well as men from the Department of State Security, raided Abba Kyari and his co-defendants’ privileged cell on Wednesday, acting on intelligence gathered from inmates who rated them out.

“They arrived the facility about 5am without the knowledge of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Kuje.
The officer in charge was on mufti. He was embarrassed by the quantum of recovery”, our source said.

According to the source, Abba Kyari and his case mate, Sunny Ubuah, were apprehended with large sums of money and sophisticated mobile phones during a raid that took place around 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

During the search, inmates were reportedly startled awake by doors opening and instructions barking at the Center, with personal belongings thrown around.

The officials left with an undisclosed sum of money found with Abba Kyari and Sunny Ubuah, as well as the sophisticated mobile phones and devices recovered from them, after only a few minutes of searching.

The development has enraged the inmates, who are currently putting upa quiet protest, and ENigeria Newspaper understands that Abba Kyari has entered a deeper state of despair as a result of being held in total solitary confinement.
The verdict on Kyari and his co-defendants has yet to be determined, but there are indications that the prison service is considering transferring him and his co-defendants to the custody of the DSS, ENigeria Newspaper learnt.
