DIG Joseph Egbunike’s burial today in Onitsha

Deputy Inspector General of Police – DIG Joseph Egbunike who died months back has been buried, ENigeria Newspaper reports.
According to information available to ENigeria Newspaper, DIG Joseph Egbunike died at National Hospital Abuja after undergoing minor surgery.
According to a source, police officers gathered at his official residence in Maitama shortly after his death to prepare for his burial.
“It is very tragic that he died after battling a protracted ailment that left his neck swollen for many years,” a police source said. “He was previously flown to London for treatment, but he did not recover well before returning to work.”
According to information at the disposal of ENigeria Newspaper, Egbunike was buried today, May 21, 2022, at his hometown of Onitsha, Anmabra State.
DIG John Ogbonnaya Amadi, mni, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Research and Planning, represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, NPM, Psc+, Fdc, at the ceremony.
