Atiku Abubakar, a presidential hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP is a victim of mob attack, ENigeria Newspaper reports.

Yakubu, Deborah Samuel was murdered and set ablaze in Sokoto on Thursday. Deborah, a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education, was gruesomely murdered on school grounds for making a “statement against Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W)” in a WhatsApp group.

Deborah had annoyingly warned her course mates to cease posting religious content in a students’ Whatsapp group dedicated to educational activities and updates. Her assailants had allegedly considered her voice note severe and flagrant blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.

Deborah was subsequently beaten and stoned to death by an enraged mob. They set her remains ablaze within the school grounds when it was established that she had died.

Following a bombardment of comments from an angry northern crowd who invaded his comment section and threatened not to vote for him in the upcoming election in 2023, Atiku soon deleted his tweet criticizing the gruesome killing of Deborah.
