President Muhammadu Buhari in closed door meeting with Ohaneze leaders and traditional leaders ENigeria Newspaper is reporting.
The President Buhari meeting with Ohaneze leaders and traditional rulers of from the South-east is said to be a crucial one giving the circumstances surrounding the 2023 presidential election and zoning formula which yet to be agreed upon, as well as other challenges facing the region.
The meeting is holding at the New Exco Chambers, Government House Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.
George Obiozor, the President-General of Ohanézè, is leading other Ohanézè officials to the gathering.
David Umahi, the Chief Host and Governor of Ebonyi State, is also in attendance, as is the Chairman of the South-east Governors Forum.
Ohanézè is likely to present Mr. Buhari with crucial regional challenges.
This includes the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Other topics expected to be covered include the election of a South East president in 2023 and the security challenges facing the region.
Mr. Buhari is in Ebonyi State for a two-day visit where he also commissioned series of projects in the state.
