Frank Mba dares IGP over redeployment, refuse to step down

Frank Mba Force Public Relations Officer rejected his redeployment by the Inspector General Usman Alkali Baba, ENigeria Newspaper reports.

Mba’s reassignment from his current position as Force PRO was first reported by ENigeria Newspaper. However, insider sources have since revealed to this newspaper that the former has subsequently disobeyed the direct order of Nigeria’s top police officer, the IGP.

The IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, had redeployed Frank Mba to the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State, but according to sources who spoke ENigeria Newspaper, Mba has since turned down the order.

Mba’s current redeployment to Kuru may appear to excite him, but he is reportedly not taking it lightly, as ENigeria Newspaper has learned that the lawyer turned Police Officer has refused to resume at his new assignment.

As we previously reported, grounds were being prepared for his departure from the position of Force PRO, but new information available to this newspaper suggests that, while the IGP is not pleased that a subordinate is disobeying his orders, he may be left with little choice in this case, given the rank of the officer involved.

“In the Police hierarchy, Frank Mba has acquired a level that places him among the Force’s decision makers,” a source told this publication, “so the IGP will have to devise a more technical technique to dislodge him from the office if he feels it urgent to do so.”

According to an inside source, Mba’s ambition may have contributed to his current predicament, since there were reports that he tried to persuade the IGP to send him to Lagos, Delta, Rivers, or Imo, but was requested to formalize his intentions in a written formal letter, which he did.

According to the source, the IGP on sighting his letter deployed him to (Kuru).

We will mention several top officials on his possible successors list in our next publication.
