Wale Jana, flamboyant founder of Saphire Saints has been disgraced following the execution of a court order.
Saphire Saints is a high-end perfume brand aimed towards the upper crust of the social scene, mainly in Lagos and Abuja.
Celebrities, particularly movie stars, prominent politicians, and artists who are picky about their appearance, and love to smell nice have taken to use the cologne.
ENigeria has learned that Wale Jana, the founder of Saphire Saints, a product manufactured from the rarest essential oils who formerly had a thriving business, raking in millions of naira through a diverse network of distribution channels is now battling to survive.
In 2020 things went in the opposite direction for him, and he found himself at cross roads with his investors.
Wale made headlines after expressing his thoughts on the rape allegation leveled against COZA Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by Busola, wife of musician, Timi Dakolo.
Wale drew backlash from a number of his customers after airing his views and endorsing the prominent Abuja-based pastor.
Many people were upset with Wale’s opinions, claiming that his support for Pastor Fatoyinbo, who was accused of rape, was disappointing and above all nauseating.
Some of his social media fans even went so far as to burn his merchandise to express their anger with his support for Pastor Fatoyinbo. Some people even went so far as to refuse to buy his products too.
Wale instantly reversed his statements by issuing apologies to his consumers and followers after learning that the majority of them were boycotting and burning his items to indicate their disgust with what he penned on his Instagram page.
His commercial empire has been struggling with sales since then, as patronage has plummeted. “The number of patrons has decreased. I have to admit something to you. That remark on Pastor Fatoyinbo and the Busola Dakolo incident contributed to his company’s bankruptcy.
His damage control efforts were ineffective, as many people are determined to give him a lesson, particularly the women who are fierce supporters of his brands, according to a source.
Several investors and distributors are believed to have been on his tail for payments of entitlements in the last few months, and the Bowen University graduate is claimed to be battling to settle them all out.
The whole thing turned into a legal saga, with his properties being seized and auctioned off.
According to a video obtained by ENigeria Newspaper, police officers who arrived to enforce the court order were seen moving equipment and belongings of Wale Jana from his office for auction, including perfumes, wrist watches, and other items, in order to help raise money to pay off his numerous debts.
According to insiders, Wale Jana, who was once the toast of the town for living flamboyantly and hobnobbing with superstars from all over the world, is now so broke that no one wants to deal with him, even with a long spoon.
